  1. Purchase an HEPA air filter – These air filters are used in hospital operating rooms to filter out minute particles. Available at Sears from single room to larger area sizes.
  2. Wash your bed sheets and pillowcases in hot water. This will kill dustmites, which can make allergies and asthma worse.
  3. Get a de-humidifier if your basement or home is damp. Dampness encourages mold, fungus and bacteria to grow.
  4. Place some healthy house plants in strategic places. Dr. Wolverton of NASA recommends Devil's Ivy (Epipremum aureum), the Boston fern (Nephrolepis exalta Bostoniensis), and the lush and leafy Dwarf Date Palm as plants to keep in the home to reduce air pollution and toxins, including fungal toxins.
  5. Purchases non-toxic household cleaning material. Go to a local health food store and see what they have to offer as replacements. Also avoid perfumes and other chemicals. Also avoid polyester and try to wear clothes with natural fibers.
  6. Get a new vacuum cleaner with a good filter on it so you are not inhaling atomized poisons when you clean. Sears and other stores have these.
  7. Use spring water or get a good water filter to reduce water toxins and chlorine in you cooking and drinking water.
  8. Thoroughly vacuum the whole house the first time, then wash your pets three times per month thereafter with water and shampoo. This will reduce animal dander by 90%.
  9. Kill fungus directly by spraying it with anti-fungal sprays available in the grocery or hardware store.
  10. Get an electrostatic air filter from Sears to eliminate household dust in addition to the HEPA filter mentioned in number one above.
  11. Get an ozone generator if you really want to zap poisons, including carpet chemicals and toxic gasses. These little machines produce ozone, which breaks down fungus, toxins and small molecules. Call Quantum at (401) 732-6770.
